Holiday Cards for Insurance Agents — be a name, not a policy number

Renewal is a decision your client makes without talking to you — unless they remember there's a person on the other end.

100 cards$2.86under, per card
250 cards$2.35under, per card
500 cards$2.19under, per card
1,000 cards$1.85under, per card

Good-tier pricing, with envelopes and imprinting included. Early-order discounts come off on top of these prices — 25% by October 15, then 20% by November 16, then 10% by December 11. Better and Best designs cost more — see all three tiers and price your order.

Retention is the entire business model

You know this better than we do. The book is the asset, and every non-renewal is a hole in it. A card costs about five dollars against a replacement cost of a few hundred at the very floor — and unlike most retention spend, it doesn't feel like marketing to the person receiving it.

The card arrives before the renewal notice

Sequence matters. A November card, then a renewal letter in January, lands very differently than a renewal letter arriving cold into a house where you haven't been mentioned since the last claim.

Commercial lines is where it pays

A personal-lines card is nice. A commercial-lines card lands on a business owner's office wall and stays in front of the person who decides where the whole account goes. If you have to pick a list to card first, card the businesses.

Questions we get from insurance

Do holiday cards actually improve insurance retention?
A card by itself doesn't retain anyone. It is one touch in a retention program — and it is the least expensive line item in that program. Retention runs roughly five to seven times less than acquisition, and at about five dollars a card against a few hundred dollars to replace a client, the floor on the ratio is 50 to 1. Every realistic book beats the floor.
Personal lines or commercial lines first?
Commercial, if you're choosing. It goes on an office wall in front of the decision-maker and the accounts are worth more. Then personal lines as budget allows — and prioritize multi-policy households, which are both your most valuable and your most portable clients.
Can we imprint the agency logo and carrier branding?
Agency logo, yes — $30 one-time setup, kept on file for re-orders. Carrier branding depends on your carrier agreements and is your call to clear, not ours. Most agencies imprint agency name, agent name and a short greeting and leave carriers off.
When do we need to order?
September or October for a comfortable December. The early-order discount takes 25% off the card price if you order by October 15, then 20% by November 16 and 10% by December 11. Ordering early is the cheaper and calmer option, which is not usually how those two go together.

Not sure where to start?

Tell us who you're sending to and roughly how many. We've been doing this since 2003 — we'll point you at the three or four designs that actually fit, and you can take it from there.
