Raised foil catches light, which means the card changes as someone walks past it. On a wall or a desk that is the difference between a card that gets noticed in week three and one that has become wallpaper.
It is also the clearest signal that a card was bought rather than printed off. For a firm sending to clients who buy on trust, that reads.
Does it survive the mail?
Yes. Raised foil is applied to a coated stock and does not scuff in transit. Standard stock is 12pt, and a 14pt upgrade is 15¢ a card if you want it to stand up on its own on a desk.
