It is warm, it is seasonal, and it belongs to nobody in particular. A snowman makes no claim about belief or nationality, which is the same reason a snowflake works — but with a face on it.
It also takes a joke well. A snowman losing his hat or missing a putt is comic without a target, which is the only kind of humor that is safe on a client card.
Who sends these?
Offices with a lighter culture, firms sending to staff and their families, and anyone whose client list includes people with young children.
There is crossover with Humorous and with Golf here, and several designs work for both.
